BISCEGLIE (perhaps anc. Natiolum), episcopal see, Apulia, Italy, on the east-south-east coast, province of Bari, 211m. by rail N.W. from Bari. Population in 1931 was 31,477 (com mune). Three towers, one some 9oft. high, of a strong Norman castle still remain; the cathedral and S. Adoeno belong to the same period. S. Margherita (1197) has fine canopied Gothic tombs of the Falcone family.
