BOYD, WILLIAM, 4th EARL (1704-46), joined Charles Ed ward, the Young Pretender, in 1745, and fought at Falkirk and Culloden, where he was made prisoner, and was beheaded on Aug. 18 1746. The title of earl of Kilmarnock is now merged in that of earl of Eroll.
