CALASIAO, a municipality (with administration centre and 16 barrios or districts) of the province of Pangasinan, Luzon, Philippine Islands, on a branch of the Agno river, about 4 m. S. by E. of Dagupan; and on the Manila-Dagupan railway. Pop. (1918) 16,960, of whom only one was white. It lies in the midst of a fertile district and has manufactures of hats and vari ous woven fabrics. In 1918 it had 32 manufacturing establish ments with output valued at 78,800 pesos, besides 12 sugar-mills and 444 household industry establishments, the latter with out put of 127,20o pesos. Of the nine schools six were public. The language spoken is Pangasinan.
