CANTON, a town of Norfolk county, Massachusetts, U.S.A., 14m. S. of Boston, on the New York, New Haven and Hartford railroad. The population in 1930 Federal census was 5,816. It has numerous and varied manufactures, including textiles, patent leather, fish-lines and fire-alarm systems. Canton has been a man ufacturing town since colonial days.
