CAMERARIUS, RUDOLF JAKOB ,i__5-1721), Ger man botanist and physician, was born in Tubingen on Feb. 12, 1665, and died there on Sept. I 1, 17a 1. He became professor of medicine and director of the botanical gardens at Tubingen in 1687. He is chiefly known for his investigations on the repro ductive organs of plants (De sexu plantarum epistola, 1694).
