CAUDEBEC-EN-CAUX, a town of France, in the depart ment of Seine-Inferieure, 27 m. W.N.W of Rouen by rail. Pop. 2,113. It is situated on the right bank of the Seine, the tidal wave of which (mascaret) can be well seen. The chief inter est of the town lies in its Flamboyant church (15th and 16th centuries). Round its top run balustrades formed of Gothic let ters, which read as part of the Magnificat. Its west portal, the decoration of the spire of the tower, and its stained glass are note worthy features. The town is the old capital of the Pays de Caux. It has some river trade in coal and farm-produce.
