CEDAR CREEK, a small branch of the North Fork of the Shenandoah river, Virginia (U.S.A.). It is known in American history as the scene of a memorable battle, which took place on Oct. 19, 1864, between the Union army under Gen. Sheridan and the Confederates under Gen. Early.
