CHABLIS, a town of north-central France, in the department of Yonne, on the left bank of the Serein, 14 m. E. of Auxerre by road. Pop. (1931) 1,915. Its church of St. Martin belongs to the end of the i 2th century. The town gives its name to a well-known white wine (see BURGUNDY).
