CITTADELLA, a town of Venetia, Italy, province of Padua, 2om. N.W. by rail from the town of Padua; i6oft. above sea level. Pop. (1921) 8,813 (town) ; (commune). The Padu ans founded Cittadella to counterbalance the Trevisan Castel franco Veneto (founded in 1199) 8m. E. ; the walls and ditch are well preserved. It is now an agricultural centre with inter section of railways : Padua-Bassano and Vicenza-Treviso.
