CLINTON, a city of Missouri, U.S.A., on the Grand river, 87m. S.E. of Kansas City; the county seat of Henry county. It is served by the Frisco and the Missouri-Kansas-Texas railways. The population in 193o was 5,744. The city lies at the edge of a rolling prairie, 7 7 oft. above sea-level. It is the trade centre for an agricultural and stock-raising district and has large flour mills. Considerable coal is mined in the county. Clinton was laid out in 1836 and incorporated in 1865.
