COLDWATER, a city near the southern boundary of Michi gan, U.S.A., surrounded by beautiful lakes; the county seat of Branch county. It is on Federal highways 27 and 112, and is served by the New York Central railway system. The population in 1920 was 6,114; 1930 it was 6,735. It has large Portland cement plants, and manufactures furnaces, marine engines, grey iron castings, brass, clothing, shoes, window-display fixtures, wooden sporting goods, sleds and lawn furniture.
