COLLINS, MORTIMER (1827-1876), English writer, was born in Plymouth June 2g 1827, and died July 28 1876. His longest and best sustained poem is The British Birds, a Corn munication from the Ghost of Aristophanes (1872). He also wrote several novels, the best of which is perhaps Sweet Anne Page (1868).
