COVENTRY, a town of Kent county (R.I.), U.S.A., 15m. S.W. of Providence, on Flat river, and served by the New York, New Haven and Hartford railroad. The population in 193o (Federal census) was 6,43o. Cotton and woollen goods are manu factured. Coventry was settled about i 700, and was set off from the town of Warwick in 1742.
