CRINUM, a genus (family Amaryllidaceae) of bulbous plants with rather broad leaves and a solid leafless stem, bearing a cluster of handsome White or red funnel-shaped regular flowers. There are 7o or more species, native to warm and tropical regions, many of which are well known in cultivation. The swamp lily (C. americanism), of the southern United States, is sometimes planted for ornament.
