CRESPI, DANIELE Italian historical painter, was born near Milan, and studied under Giovanni Battista Crespi and Giulio Procaccini. His best work, a series of pictures from the life of Saint Bruno, is in the monastery of the Carthusians at Milan. Other paintings of his are at Brera and at Pavia.
