DAHL, JOHANN KRISTEN CLAUSEN Norwegian landscape painter, was born in Bergen on Feb. 24, 1788, and died in Dresden on Oct. 14, 1857. He settled in Dres den in 1818. Dahl is usually included in the German school, al though he was nearly 4o when he finally took up his abode in Dresden, where he became professor. At Dresden may be seen many of his works, notably a large picture called "Norway" and a "Storm at Sea." See A. Aubert, Maleren Professor Dahl
