DORNBIRN is a township in the Austrian province of Vor arlberg, at the foot of the Bregenzerwald. The name is a collective appellation for four straggling villages—Dornbirn, Hatlerdorf, Oberdorf and Haselstauden—which are chiefly important as small centres manufacturing textiles and iron goods by the aid of motive power derived from the regulated Dornbirner Ach, a tributary of the Rhine. Pop. 14,400.
