ESQUIMAULT. A naval and military station situated on the south of Vancouver island, British Columbia, and connected by an electric railway to Victoria and Nanaimo. It has an excel lent harbour, navy yard, meteorological station and barracks for naval and military purposes, all of which have been handed over to the Canadian Government by the British Admiralty. A large salmon cannery and a ship-yard provide the principal industrial interest. Pop. 5,1 oo.
