ETRETAT, a watering-place of France, in the department of Seine-Inf erieure, on the coast of the English Channel, 161 m. N. by E. of Havre by road. Pop. (1931) 1,678. It stands between curiously worn chalk cliffs at the mouth of a valley, the stream of which runs underground for some distance to emerge on the beach. Fishing is carried on.
