FLAMBOROUGH HEAD, a promontory on the Yorkshire coast, England, between the Filey and Bridlington bays of the North sea. It is a lofty chalk headland. The cliffs of the Head are pierced with caverns and fringed with rocks of fantastic out line. Sea-birds breed abundantly on the cliffs. A lighthouse marks the point, in 54° 7' N.; o° 5' W.
