FOREST CITY, a borough of Susquehanna county, Pa., U.S.A., in the Moosic mountains, 2om. N.E. of Scranton. It is served by the Delaware and Hudson, the Erie and the New York, Ontario and Western railways. The population was 6,004 in 1920 (29% foreign-born white) and was 5,209 in 1930 by the Federal census. Anthracite mining and farming are the chief occupations of the region. The borough was incorporated in 1888.
