At Sosonea, N. of Hazaribagli is a slightly chalybeate spring, with a little muriate and carbonate of soda also in solution.

The boiling point of water at the elevation of Munnikarn is much below that point. Rice is cooked in the spring at Jumnotri 194°, at about 11,000 feet above the sea, and in many others of inferior temperature.
