15. Chrysarobin, excellent preparation with energetic effect, kerato plastic, slightly astringent on the blood vessels, highly antiparasitic. Application: in all parasitic skin diseases, almost a specific in psoriasis. In applying ehrysarobin (for children a weak d to 1 per cent. solution is best) great eaution is necessary, as it easily causes con.siderabledermatitis with crdema and formation of vesieles, folliculitis and conjunctivitis and colors the hair dark (eare about face). Should it create irritation, it should be immediately replaeed by mild salves. Preseription: to 10 per cent. salve and paste, 1 to 10 per cent. solution in chloroform for painting. Eurobin which is less irritating has reeently been recom mended as a substitute (application same as ehrysarobin.) 1G. Formalia.—Desieeating, antiseeretory, antiparasitic. Appli cation: as soap, spirits and salve.
17. Menthol, thymol, carbolic acid are used as strongly refrigerating, itch-relieving media in all forms of urticaria, prurigo and eczema, the best NV a y being in the shape of salves and spirits.
18. Styrax (eheaper than balsam of Peru).—For vegetable and animal parasites (especially scabies); Peruol with eastor oil (1:3) has of late been employed as a substitute for the highly odoriferous balsam of Peru.
19. Hydrargyrura pracipitatum alburn.—Effeet : ant iparasitic, blood reducing and softening; excellent remedy in psoriasis and for destroy ing animal parasites (pediculi).
20. Hydrogen peroxide, with strong bleaching power like sublimate and oxychlorate of bismuth.
The last four medicaments are used in the shape of ointments for the removal of pigment and the black spots of comedones. Best method of application: Hydrogen peroxide 20.0 Gm. (6 dr.), adeps larim anhyd. 5.0 Gm. (11), vaselin 10.0 Gm. (21 gr.), sublimate 0.05-0.1Gm. gr.), bism. oxychlorat. 0.5-3.0 Gni.
21. Nitrate of silser, for painting in exudating eczema and intertrigo (2-10 per cent.). To clean ulcers as a one per cent. ointment with 10 per cent. Peru balsam. Instead of the nitrate good service has been ren dered by Protargol-Vaseline (0.1: 10), which is nonodorous and non staining.
22. Tuberculin, as a diagnostic and therapeutic agent in tuber culous affections of the skin, especially of lichen scrophulosorum.
